Description
This poster is a reproduction of the original Reference Drawings for the Golden Gate Bridge Suspender Rope and Fittings from the John A. Roebling’s Sons Company that was approved by Joseph B. Strauss, the Chief Engineer for the bridge project, on October 8th, 1935. The poster is unframed, 30″ x 20″ (width x height), in black and white on 30 weight paper with a matte finish. The ten different sizes of wires, and the organization of the 229 wires into the seven strands that make up the ropes (the lay of the rope), is the fingerprint that authenticate these wire ropes as the original vertical suspender ropes from the Golden Gate Bridge.
